Effects of Humic Acid on Pigs
Adding the proper amount of sodium humate to pig feed can increase body weight, especially for the growth of retarded pigs. And the litter size of pregnant and lactation sows, birth weight of piglets, weaning weight, and survival rate of piglets were significantly increased, and sows had strong appetites and good mental states. The sperm density and viability rate of boars increased, while the sperm malformation rate decreased, indicating that humic acid also had a significant positive effect on the reproductive performance of boars.
The meat of the first and second-generation pigs fed sodium humate or humic acid was normal in terms of heavy metals and other indicators, and pathological examinations did not find any abnormalities. The study found that HA is non-carcinogenic and does not cause cumulative toxicity. All these show that pork fed with HA is safe and reliable.
Feeding feed containing humic acid can treat the diarrhea of piglets and prevent gastrointestinal diseases, especially in the season of frequent gastrointestinal diseases and the incidence rate of pigs fed the HA diet decreased significantly. HA can also be combined with other methods to treat foot-and-mouth disease so that the disease can be quickly controlled. At the same time, it can improve the immunity of pigs, and the effect of HA on nutrient digestibility and immunity of piglets is even better than that of antibiotics.
