Physical, Chemical and Biological Effects of Humic Acid
The function of humic acid is divided into physical function, chemical function and biological function.
- Main Physical Function
Improve soil structure to prevent soil cracking and erosion. Increase soil water holding capacity, and improve cold resistance ability. It can also darken the color of soil and is good for absorbing solar energy.
- Main Chemical Function
Adjust the soil PH value, improve and optimize the absorption of nutrients and water by plants, and increase the soil buffer capacity. Under alkaline conditions, it is a natural chelating agent (chelating with metal ions and promoting plant absorption), rich in organic matter and minerals necessary for plant growth. Improve the solubility of organic fertilizer, and reduce the loss of fertilizer, so that the nutrient elements can be easily absorbed by plants. It can strengthen the plant's absorption of nitrogen, reduce the fixation of phosphorus, store the elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the soil, protect them in the soil, accelerate the process of nutrient elements entering the plant, and improve the application effect of inorganic fertilizer.
- Main Biological Function
To stimulate the growth and propagation of beneficial microorganisms in soil and improve the ability of natural resistance and insect resistance of plants.
